How do I fit my Bronze mouthguard?Updated 2 hours ago
Bronze mouthguards are fitted using the Fitting Handle . These steps apply to both Adult and Youth mouthguards.
Step 1: get ready
Fill a ceramic bowl with freshly boiled water, have your timer ready and put a mug of cold water within easy reach. Push the Fitting Handle into the holes at the front of your mouthguard. The word “top” should be visible when you look down at it.
Step 2: heat your mouthguard (20 seconds)
Holding the handle, place your mouthguard in the hot water for 20 seconds. Don’t leave it in for longer, as this can damage it.
Step 3: remove and cool slightly
Lift your mouthguard out of the water by the handle. Turn it upside down to drain it, then shake it for up to 10 seconds to cool it slightly. It will be hot, so take care.
Step 4: fit your mouthguard
Holding the handle, put your mouthguard in your mouth and position it centrally over your teeth. Bite down firmly for 30 to 60 seconds. While you’re biting, press firmly on your lips and cheeks with your fingers, which helps mould the mouthguard around the shape of your mouth. Bite firmly, but not so hard that it hurts.
Step 5: set your mouthguard
Take the mouthguard out of your mouth and put it in cold water for 30 seconds.
Step 6: let it settle
For best results, put your mouthguard in the fridge for 15 minutes, or leave it at room temperature for an hour, before wearing it.
